JuSplit

Terms of Service

Version 2.1

Effective from 27 ottobre 2026

1. Service provider and acceptance

JuSplit is a service operated by WARE SRL, registered office at Via Provinciale 82, 24021 Albino (BG), Italia, Italian VAT number IT-04876650161, SDI recipient code KRRH6B9, PEC (certified email) dmware@pec.it (hereinafter, “JuSplit” or the “Provider”). For communications about these Terms you can write to legale@jusplit.com.

By creating an account or completing registration via Google or Apple, the user declares to have read and accepted these Terms. The Privacy Policy separately describes the processing of personal data, and reading it does not amount to consent for optional purposes.

2. Who JuSplit is for

JuSplit is intended exclusively for adult individuals who manage their children's expenses together with another parent. The service is not offered directly to minors, who may not create an account or use it. The user declares to be at least 18 years old and to be entitled to enter the information about the children and the other parent needed to use the service.

3. Service features

JuSplit allows, among other things, to:

  • create an account and link it, via invitation, to the other parent's account;
  • configure children, categories and how often shared settlements occur;
  • record expenses, amounts, dates, descriptions, categories, locations and notes;
  • approve, reject and confirm expenses according to the flow shown in the application;
  • generate periodic settlements, approve them, dispute them and record that payment has occurred;
  • receive in-app notifications and transactional emails about shared activity;
  • export the expense history to CSV from the website and delete your own account in a self-service way;
  • attach a photo or a document (for example a receipt) to an expense, a feature reserved for JuSplit Plus subscribers (section 15).

Features, screens and flows may evolve over time. Substantial changes affecting user rights will be communicated as described in section 17 below.

4. Account, credentials and security

The user must provide accurate and up-to-date information, keep their credentials safe and not allow third parties to use their account. They must promptly inform JuSplit of any unauthorized access or compromise. Access can happen with email and password or, where available, via Google or Sign in with Apple. The user remains responsible for activity carried out with their account, except where not attributable to their conduct or due to shortcomings of the service.

5. Connection between parents and shared visibility

The connection happens through an invitation sent by email or shared via a link. Anyone who receives an invitation link must treat it as confidential information. Once connected, each parent can see the shared data of the relationship — including children's names, expenses, approval statuses, settlements, disputes and payment notes — and one parent's actions may produce effects visible to the other.

Ending the connection prevents new shared activity but does not automatically delete the history already confirmed. Deletion requests are handled taking into account the rights of the other parent and any need to establish, exercise or defend legal claims.

6. Data about children

JuSplit only requires a name to identify which child an expense refers to. When sufficient, it is recommended to use an abbreviation, an initial, or a nickname recognisable only by the two parents. Date of birth, photographs of the child, identification codes or other unnecessary details must not be entered. Each user is responsible for respecting the best interests of the child and minimising the information about them.

7. User-submitted content

Expenses, descriptions, notes, locations, dispute messages and change requests are content provided by users. Whoever enters them guarantees they are authorised to do so and remains responsible for their accuracy, lawfulness and relevance. JuSplit does not verify the correctness of information in advance and does not assume authorship of user content.

It is forbidden to enter content that is:

  • unlawful, defamatory, threatening, discriminatory, abusive or infringing on others' rights;
  • unrelated to managing shared expenses, or deliberately false and misleading;
  • containing credentials, full banking details, card numbers, identity documents or other confidential identifiers;
  • containing health, judicial, or other particularly sensitive details that are not strictly necessary.

Attachments to expenses (JuSplit Plus) must be limited to receipts, invoices or other proof of the expense, in JPG, PNG, WEBP or PDF format up to 5 MB. They must not contain photographs of people, particularly of minors, nor health, judicial or identity documents. The attachment is visible to the connected other parent just like the rest of the expense it belongs to.

JuSplit may restrict access, retain the elements needed to document an abuse, and remove or make unavailable content that is manifestly unlawful or contrary to these Terms, in compliance with applicable law. Reports can be sent to legale@jusplit.com, indicating the content, the reason for the report and useful details to identify it.

8. Approvals, confirmations and settlements

The statuses shown by JuSplit record declarations made by users within the application. Confirming an expense limits its editing in the normal flow of the service; approving a settlement indicates that the user has checked its data. Before confirming, each user must check amounts, period and line items.

Calculations, settlements and records have an organisational and informational function. They do not constitute invoices, receipts, enforceable titles, bank statements, professional advice, or a guarantee that an obligation exists. JuSplit does not guarantee that any authority will attribute a specific evidentiary value to the data or logs.

9. No payment, legal or mediation service

JuSplit does not transfer money, does not hold funds, and does not process account or card numbers. The selected payment method is a simple label, and marking something as “paid” or “received” is a statement made by the user. The service does not provide legal, tax, financial or family advice, does not replace agreements or authority rulings, and does not mediate between parents. Any disputes remain between users.

10. Activity log and administrative support

For security, support and to reconstruct operations, JuSplit logs the main actions together with author, date and time, IP address, user agent and the entity involved. Authorised administrative staff may access the necessary data and, in justified support cases, use the "sign in as" function to reproduce the user's view. The start and end of such access is logged. Further details are in the Privacy Policy.

11. Proper use of the service

The user may not:

  • access another person's account or attempt to bypass security measures;
  • use JuSplit to harass, unduly monitor, or pressure the other parent;
  • interfere with the service, automate unauthorised access, or introduce malicious code;
  • copy, resell or commercially exploit the service without authorisation;
  • use JuSplit in violation of the law, a court order, or the rights of third parties.

12. Intellectual property and licence to use

Software, interface, trademarks, graphics and content prepared by the Provider belong to the Provider or its licensors. As long as the account remains active and the Terms are respected, the user is granted a personal, limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable and revocable licence to use JuSplit. The user retains the rights to their own content and grants the Provider only the technical licence needed to store it, show it to the connected other parent, and provide, protect and support the service.

13. Availability, maintenance and technical changes

JuSplit is provided on an as-available basis, without a guarantee of absolute continuity. Maintenance, outages, errors or connectivity loss may occur. The Provider adopts reasonable security and continuity measures, but the user must independently keep original documents — such as receipts, agreements or rulings — that may be needed outside the service.

14. Suspension, account closure and retention

The Provider may suspend or deactivate an account in the event of a breach of these Terms, a security risk, unlawful use, an order from an authority, or an urgent technical need, adopting proportionate measures where possible and informing the user. The user can delete their own account at any time, self-service, from Settings → Delete account, on the website and in the app, or by writing to the address given in the Privacy Policy. Before deleting, the expense history can be downloaded as a CSV from the website.

If the account being deleted belongs to the parent who subscribed to JuSplit Plus, the subscription is cancelled with immediate effect and no further charges; the already-paid, unused portion of the period is not automatically refunded, except as provided in section 15 on the right of withdrawal.

Closure does not require the deletion of data that must or may be retained for legal obligations, security, abuse prevention, dispute handling, or to protect the rights of the Provider and the other parent. Where possible, identifying data will be deleted or replaced, while the shared history may be limited and retained for the periods described in the Privacy Policy.

15. Fees and JuSplit Plus

JuSplit's core features (expenses, approvals, settlements, notifications) are free. No amount is charged without the user's express choice.

What JuSplit Plus is. It is an optional paid subscription that lets you attach photos and documents to expenses. The price is €4.99 per month or €39.99 per year, VAT included where applicable. The subscription is tied to the connection between the two parents, not to the individual account: both connected parents benefit from it, but only the one who subscribes is charged.

Subscribing and payment. The subscription is purchased from jusplit.com. Payment is handled by Stripe on its own secure page: JuSplit does not receive or store card numbers or other complete payment data. The subscription is activated only after payment is confirmed; receipts and invoices are made available by Stripe.

Automatic renewal. The subscription renews automatically at the end of each period (monthly or yearly) at the same price, until cancelled. Any price changes are communicated at least 30 days in advance and do not apply to renewals occurring before the notice; the user can cancel before the renewal.

Cancellation. The user can cancel at any time from the JuSplit Plus page → Manage subscription. Cancellation takes effect at the end of the period already paid for: until that date JuSplit Plus remains active and no further charges are made.

Right of withdrawal. The consumer may withdraw from the contract within 14 days of subscribing, without giving a reason, by writing to legale@jusplit.com. By subscribing, the user expressly requests immediate activation of the service: in case of withdrawal, an amount proportional to what has already been used up to the withdrawal notice is due, and the remaining amount is refunded within 14 days using the same payment method used.

Failed payment and termination. If a renewal fails, Stripe may retry the charge; until payment is regularised, or after the subscription ends, no new attachments can be uploaded. Attachments already uploaded remain linked to their expenses and viewable.

16. Liability

Each user is responsible for the information they enter, the decisions they make, and their relationship with the other parent. To the extent permitted by law, the Provider is not liable for damages arising from inaccurate data provided by users, agreements or conflicts between them, failure to keep original documents, improper use of the service, or events outside its reasonable control.

Nothing in these Terms excludes or limits liability where the law prohibits it, including for wilful misconduct or gross negligence, personal injury, data protection breaches attributable to the Provider, and mandatory consumer rights.

17. Changes to these Terms

The Provider may update these Terms for regulatory, technical, security or service-related changes. The version and effective date are shown at the top of this page. Substantial changes will be communicated with reasonable notice via the website, the app or email, and, when necessary, new acceptance will be requested. Urgent changes imposed by law or security needs may take effect immediately.

18. Governing law and jurisdiction

These Terms are governed by Italian law, without depriving the consumer of the mandatory protections granted by the law of the country where they habitually reside. For disputes with a consumer, the competent court is that of the consumer's place of residence or domicile, where provided by applicable law. In other cases, the competent court is determined according to ordinary rules.

Before starting a dispute, the user is invited — without prejudice to their rights — to contact legale@jusplit.com to try to reach a direct solution.

19. Final provisions

If a clause is found invalid or ineffective, the others remain valid. Failure to exercise a right does not constitute a waiver of it. These Terms, together with any specific conditions shown for individual features, govern the use of the service.
